The amount of treatments in a plan varies depending on your skins condition. You may experience a limited degree of redness and/or puffiness for only a brief period of time following the treatment.
Fractional laser skin resurfacing offers a new generation of skin resurfacing to restore dull, damaged, aging, scarred, and uneven skin. The fractional Er:YAG and CO2 laser work together to stimulate the skin’s natural renewal process to improve sun-damaged skin, scars , fine lines and wrinkles.
Fractional Laser Resurfacing can be used on the face, neck, chest and body. It is uniquely effective in treating periorbital (around the eyes) and perioral areas (around the mouth). These areas reveal the first signs of aging which are the most difficult to treat.
Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing works by selectively removing impaired skin tissues through exposure to laser beams in a pattern of tiny dots. The laser pulses penetrate deep within the skin’s layers, removing columns of damaged tissue, and leaving surrounding tissue intact. The body will respond through repairing and healing the skin by producing new collagen.
The number of Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing treatments needed will vary depending on the severity of the skin’s condition. On average, 3-6 treatments are recommended to achieve the desired results.
During a fractional laser skin resurfacing treatment a topical anesthetic is applied to the skin for 25- 30 mins to provide comfort. Most clients describe the sensation as multiple pinches to skin combined with heat that resolves quickly.
After a Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing treatment you can expect a limited degree of redness and puffiness similar to a sunburn with possible pinpoint bleeding. The skin will feel warm and sore for a few days following treatment but can be relieved with pain medication. Improvement can be seen in up to one week following treatment, with more visible results in one to three months.
Fractional laser resurfacing can be combined with other cosmetic therapies. These include laser genesis, full field laser skin resurfacing and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy.
Fractional unique laser wavelength and its ability to deeply penetrate the skin, is perfectly balanced to dramatically improve the appearance of impaired skin in a single treatment.
You will begin to see visible results from a fractional laser skin resurfacing treatment from one week post treatment. Improvement will persist thereafter, maximum results and benefits will be evident following one to three months of the treatment.
After a fractional laser skin resurfacing treatment you can continue your normal daily activities, however, you may not wish to attend important social events, as your face will appear pink/red for 3 – 4 days.
Make-up can be worn 5 days after your fractional laser resurfacing treatment.
A fractional laser resurfacing treatment can be performed in 4-6 week intervals, however, treatment frequency will depend on your skin concerns. This should be discussed with the specialist performing your treatment.
A specially formulated skin care regime specific to your skin type and condition will be advised by your specialist to care for treated skin and to maintain the results of your treatment.
